Wanting to be a member of the Lorena VFD?

First off, thank you for taking the time to do some research into joining our department. We are a proud service that takes an extreme amount of pride in our equipment and above all the training and preparation that we put in before ever responding to an emergency. If you like hard work and challenging circumstances this is the place for you! In order to join you must make THREE meeting/training nights. Our meeting/training nights are the first and third Tuesday of every month. The meetings start at 7:00pm and are located at our fire station in downtown Lorena (104 E. Center St.). During your three meetings you will be asked to fill out an application and after the third meeting you will be voted in or out by our members (we rarely vote out someone but we would recommend you come in with a good attitude and a willingness to learn)! After you are voted in you will receive equipment and be asked to show competency using certain tools and performing certain tasks before we release you to the wild. If you have any questions please feel free to email us or message us on our Facebook page. Thanks again for looking us up and we hope to see you soon!

Things to consider before joining:

  • You must be willing to complete all required initial training as assigned. Training requirements vary based on fire/EMS experience prior to joining.
  • If you have no previous experience, we will provide all training resources. You must complete trainings (online and skills) within a predefined time period.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Attend Tuesday night training as required.
  • Willing to go the extra mile for your neighbor.
